Back to school
It’s Friday night, the house is quiet and I’m relaxing with my dogs. I’ve turned the corner and I’m now back in school, so that means that my focus is on my job and being the best teacher that I can be. So, I’m very thankful for that awesome vacation week full of exercise, family time, rest and relaxation.
As of now, my time online will be limited and my reading will be focused on educational topics instead of fiction. I can’t access anything to do with social media or “internet radio” online at work so I won’t even be able to listen to any podcasts during my free period. Unfortunately, my ipod is broken so I can’t even listen that way.
It’s Labor Day weekend and I’ve got lots on the agenda, including canning as many tomatoes as possible before I run out of time and they end up rotting on the vine. I hope to get lots of lesson planning done as well as do a really good house cleaning. Opening day and Patriots tailgating starts next Sunday so this really is the last weekend before everything gets REALLY busy for me. Weather should be great so I’m planning on enjoying every minute of the 3 days home.

…to get back to reality! I’m here on the final night of my vacation watching the Pats. (Unfortunately, they’re getting crushed.) It was a most excellent vacation! It was a low-key family vacation and little things like all sitting down together to eat dinner together made me smile. :-) (For years, I was in school at night, my husband has worked different shifts, and kids’ activities had spread us out most evenings.)
I love to come here to our favorite vacation spot right on Lake Winnipesaukee for my summer’s last hurrah. Once I get home, my summer vacation is over and I have to head back to school. (Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my summers… sigh) I firmly believe that this is the kind of place that everyone can and should do what makes them happy. I personally like to go for early morning walks or runs, watch the sunrises and sunsets, spend time on the water, READ, and take a nap if the fancy strikes me.
Thankfully, this vacation allowed me to do all of the things I love, with the people that I love. :-) (Now… if they only allowed dogs… hehe!)

Ahhhhh….
It’s time to relax, read, spend time with family, and refocus to start to switch gears into my school life. After supper I took in a beautiful sunset and sat quietly listening to the sound of the water lapping at the dock. (The cameraphone picture didn’t do it justice, trust me.)
Tomorrow will be our first full day and I plan to go for an early morning run, do some kayaking, finish my book, go out for a ride in the boat and try to make time stand still. ![]()
